WEDO uses only the highest grade ring spun cotton yarns from suppliers who conform in full to the regulations of the European Ökotex 100 Standard, recognised as a leading specification for textile safety and quality.

All chemicals used in the treatment of our products conform to regulations  1907/2006 EC, article 31 (a directive of the European Community) as documented by the Wick Safety Data Sheets, sent to our customers on request.

We would be happy to explain the above in further detail and provide information about our QC system as required.

REACH

The REACH regulations which came into force on 1.6.2007 govern the obligation to register substances within the EU and communication along the supply chain.

 

As wick manufacturer, we have ensured that the substances contained in our products (classed as “articles” under REACH), have been duly preregistered and have informed our upstream suppliers about the intended use according to the ECA “use descriptor system candles”.

 

We review publications pertaining to the implementation of this directive continuously, in order that we can inform our customers about changes immediately. We pay particular attention to the list of candidate substances compiled by ECHA (European Chemicals Agency), which are subjected to a strict approval procedure.

 

We would like to inform our customers that we are fully aware of our responsibilities regarding the products we supply and that all necessary measures are being taken, in order to continue to supply our customers with the highest quality wicks in conformity with REACH.

 

As always we remain at the disposal of our customers in case of questions.

 

Service

We are pleased to advise in all wick matters. However, we can also help when it comes to candle testing procedures and trouble-shooting, if initial burning results do not meet your requirements.

If the burn tests with the first set of wick samples provided (please also see “Wicks” page) do not fulfill your criteria, please contact us. Based on your findings, we can suggest further alternatives or carry out burn tests in our own test lab. With over 1.000 wicks in our product range, there is a very good chance that we will find the wick to do the job – if we do not have it already, we can develop it if necessary.
